Facebook is not a place to share ideas.

It is the first time in the known human history, where people can communicate with each other in no time, without cash needed. Chatting with people you love and live abroad is totally free and you can not only talk to them but also see them in real time! Really, for people who are over 30 this is incredible, or at least it should be.

you lived back in the 90’s you could only communicate with people in your village or city, you could make phone calls that would cost you a lot and if you had a cousin that lived in Australia you would send him an invitation to come to one of the most successful TV shows of your country to meet him for the first time, because your poor grandma was dying. Really dying. Literally, she died the next day of the show. If you missed your favorite show or TV series because you had to go to this party, you would have to wait until summer when it would be shown again and if the host of a show said something offensive you could not post an answer to him as a commend, interact with him and sharing your hate, you would burn in hell thinking of him for a week or at least tell your friend who lived next to you about the BS you had just listened. If you wanted to speak on the phone with a relative who lived abroad, your time was limited, you could hear his voice really coming from Australia and you could see your mum screaming from the other room, without really listening to her voice, because there wasn’t any. So you had to say goodbye.

The only way to get information was from the corrupted newspapers from your country and the news on TV. If you wanted to get to know about scientific researches you had to go to the local libraries and make a real research on the books there. No communication with others was included.

The first time this was possible to happen in a great massive way, was with Facebook. Imagine being in the 80’s and someone told you, you would have this possibility. Just imagine. All the things you could do, all the people you would get in touch with, all the knowledge you could gain and when this possibility comes into your hands….you send people…your plate. You send people your plate.

You post a photo of Carl Sagan, you get 2 likes. You post people your boobs you get 180. You post a poem you , you get 9 likes. You post a photo of your drink you get 230 and 17 comments!

Facebook is the glorious world of denial. There is a function in our brains that tries to keep us alive. This function makes us deny the negative and important things, because if some people think seriously they think they will die! Really that’s how their brain has translated serious thinking! Death! That’s why they make fun of things all the time, they try to keep themselves alive!

But I am brave enough now and put the word on the table. I will talk seriously. Facebook has changed my life personally, because I really have learnt a lot of things. Really. But Facebook for me represents the phrase “ I have lost faith in humanity”. Humanity seems not to be serious about the huge opportunity we have in our hands. Internet in general.

Imagine you had this on your hands in the age of Alexander the Great! While you were searching the net, a soldier would come and ask you in ancient Greek:

-“What is that?”

-“It is an application that gives you the ability to communicate with your people in no time”

He takes you in his tribe! He gives you all the gold!He needs it for himself! He will save his people!

Everyone now seems to be used to this kind of life.

“I can check my messenger while I am on the plane. Among the clouds”.

“I can speak with my best friend that is studying in Johannesburg, life is something like that”

“I will send my plate to all of them!”

No boy, life is not something like that! Life has been something like that for the past 10 years! Do you know how is this translated in human’s history age? This is happening for the last secon! Be serious.

Share your knowledge with people! Make this world better, you have all the tools!

But Facebook obviously is not the one of the tools. People who hang out there, really don’t care. They want to show their egos, their little fake perspectives of themselves and gossip for others. Facebook is not a place to share your thoughts.

That’s why I love Medium.
